AuDHD Day – September 9th 2025

Introducing AuDHD Day: A New Awareness Day for Those Living with Both Autism and ADHD

On 9th September 2025, the inaugural AuDHD Day will launch, aiming to raise awareness and understanding of individuals who have both autism and ADHD.

Research indicates that up to 70% of autistic individuals also have ADHD traits, highlighting the significance of this dual experience.

This new awareness day is curated by Rachel Morgan-Trimmer, neurodiversity consultant and founder of FireBird, a consultancy platform supporting companies in creating inclusive workplaces. Rachel, who has lived experience of AuDHD, is passionate about transforming workplaces and communities to be more inclusive and supportive of neurodiverse people.

The term AuDHD has been informally adopted by the neurodivergent community to describe the co-occurrence of autism and ADHD. While not officially recognised as a formal diagnosis, AuDHD resonates with many who navigate the complexities of both conditions.

“AuDHD Day is about giving a name and a date to an experience that many have felt but couldn’t articulate. It’s about visibility, recognition, and starting a conversation that has been long overdue,” said Rachel.

AuDHD Day aims to provide a platform for individuals to share their stories, insights, and experiences to create a sense of community and understanding. The team have also solicited experts in autism and ADHD to contribute explainer videos and articles.

Digital assets for AuDHD Day

In addition to the awareness day, Rachel commissioned Joanna Mansfield, co-founder of honours.studio, to develop a series of digital badges in support of AuDHD Day, in the form of supporter packs. These badges can be downloaded and shared across social media platforms to further spread awareness and show support for the AuDHD community. The initiative encourages individuals to proudly display their affiliation with AuDHD and contribute to the growing movement.

You can download the supporter packs here.

Looking ahead, each year AuDHD Day will feature a unique theme, allowing for focused discussions and initiatives that address various aspects of the AuDHD experience. This evolving approach ensures that the conversation remains dynamic and relevant, fostering continuous learning and support within the community.

The campaign has already had an overwhelming response from people with autism and ADHD, with individuals keen to contribute and expressing the need for more awareness.
